Ashes ceremony for Pandit Gossai

An ashes ceremony was held yesterday for the late Pandit Prakash
Gossai at the De Hoop Mandir, Mahaica.

According to the Government Information Agency, the ceremony was
attended by President Bharrat Jagdeo.
Pandit Gossai succumbed to a heart condition in June after he was
taken to the US. He was cremated in New York and in accordance with
his wishes his ashes were yesterday dispersed in the Mahaica River.
He was born in Handsome Tree, Mahaica

assistant to the President at the time of his death and a popular
